Sunday River's Birthday Bash

December 19, 2009 marked 50 years to the day that Sunday River first opened as a ski area, and we celebrated the day in style with a huge birthday bash.

Events were planned all weekend long, but the main attraction was Saturday night's birthday party complete with the Many Flavors of Sunday River food and drink tasting, fire dancers outside on the slopes of South Ridge, a concert in the Foggy Goggle with the Dave Matthews tribute band One Sweet World, and the largest fireworks display ever seen in western Maine.

We'd like to thank the host of local restaurants that participated in the Many Flavors of Sunday River event: Good Food Store, Gringo Harry's, Liam's Restaurant, The Matterhorn, Phoenix House & Well, S.S. Milton, The Bethel Inn, The Victoria Restaurant and Funky Red Barn. All proceeds from the event went to the Sunday River Region Charitable Fund and we were able to raise over $13,000!

Many thanks to all of Sunday River's guests and fans who turned out for the weekend and made the events such a success!
