New pricing structure allows for all-day unlimited access to various amenities

Newry, Maine—There is a reason Sunday River Resort was voted “Best Mountain Park” by Yankee Magazine this spring. Plans for the summer include a new nine-hole flying disc golf course and a new bungee trampoline to supplement its existing Zipline Tours, Twin Zips, scenic lift rides, geocache adventures, wildlife encounters, and award-winning golf. The resort will also host its first Maine State Championship Downhill mountain bike race and Western Maine’s Largest Yard Sale. Sunday River opens for summer activities on June 29.

The Flying Disc Golf Course at Sunday River will cover parts of the South Ridge Base Area along the trails and throughout the woods. For those who aren’t familiar with the sport, Flying Disc Golf is similar to regular golf, in that players want to hit all targets in the fewest number of swings, or tosses. Otherwise, this isn’t golf. Toss a disc at each target until you nail it and move on to the next. It takes strategy and fortitude, but most of all, it takes a great sense of humor.

There’s no denying it. Trampolines are fun. This summer, Sunday River will be setting up a Bungee Trampoline where you will be strapped into a harness attached to bungee cords that allow you to reach new heights and do unimaginable tricks. This is not your neighbor’s trampoline. This is the real deal.

On June 30, as part of its opening weekend for the summer, Sunday River will be hosting its first Western Maine’s Largest Yard Sale in the South Ridge Base Area. This is the perfect way to kick off Sunday River’s summer season—and a great way to get rid of some skeletons in your closets while finding treasures and celebrating the beginning of the summer season!

Also new this summer, professional and amateur mountain bikers will be heading to the resort to battle it out for cash and prizes at the Maine State Championship Downhill on Sunday, July 8, 2012. The course at Sunday River’s lift-serviced mountain bike park will include extreme features and berms to challenge expert and novice riders alike along Sunday River’s North Peak.

Pricing for Sunday River’s summer activities vary, but new this summer, guests at Sunday River can purchase an “Adventure Package” for all-day unlimited access to scenic lift rides, Twin Zips, the bungee trampoline, and the flying disc golf course for $25 (adult) and $22 (junior).
