Sunday River Resort to Offer Mountain Bike Lessons
Learn to ride or improve your skills with lessons and rental packages starting at $29 for kids and $39 for adults
Newry, ME (Summer 2013)—This summer, Sunday River Resort will offer mountain bike lessons to kids and adults looking to learn a new skill or take their skills to the next level.
Classes will utilize the resort’s new base area pump track and 1.5k cross country training loop to work on skills and techniques used in cross country and downhill mountain biking.
Lessons are available starting Friday, June 21, and take place Fridays through Sundays as well as holidays including July 4, September 2 (Labor Day), and October 14 (Columbus Day). Monday, October 14 is the last day of the resort’s summer season.
Lessons are available in one-and two-hour increments with classes starting at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. Guests are asked to arrive to the Sunday River Sports for their lesson at least 20 minutes prior.
One-hour lessons are $29 for kids 13 and younger and $49 for adults. Two-hour lessons are $39 for kids 14 and younger and $59 for adults.
One-hour lessons include bike rental, a helmet, protective gear, and instruction. Two-hour lessons include bike rental, helmet, protective gear, a single lift ride, and instruction.
Following any lesson, guests can add on an uphill lift access ticket good for the remainder of the day, as well as extend their bike and helmet rental for an additional fee.
Class sizes are limited to four people per class and guests are encouraged to reserve their spot ahead of time by calling 800.543.2754.
Classes can also be booked based on availability at South Ridge Sports in the South Ridge Lodge or at both Grand Hotels.
