Sunday River Brings White Out Weekend Back to the Resort

Gay/lesbian weekend features drag races, parties, plenty of time on the slopes, and ski and stay lodging packages starting at $167

Newry, Maine (January 23, 2012)—In collaboration with OutRyders and DownEast Pride Alliance, Sunday River Ski Resort will host White Out Weekend (WOW), February 9–12, 2012—three days dedicated to the gay and lesbian community.

WOW weekend features “drag” races where skiers and riders can showcase their divine skiing selves, après get-togethers, spa treatments with complimentary wine, a Studio 54 soiree, and a White Out (blacklight) Party at the Peak Lodge with Provincetown’s DJ MaryAlice.

Other activities over the weekend include First Tracks, an early-morning corduroy run before lifts open to the public for those who reserve a spot in advance; 12-Hour Skiing/Riding on Friday and Saturday; Zipline Tours; and fireworks.

Special lodging rates at the Grand Summit Resort Hotel and the Jordan Grand Resort Hotel start at $167 and include slopeside lodging, lift tickets, free daily adult ski or snowboard clinics, and free breakfast, daily. Both hotels boast full spas that offer sports massages and couples treatments as well as fitness centers, outdoor heated pools and hot tubs, and signature Boyne bed and linen packages for superior comfort at the end of the day.
