Fall Festival Weekend

 

10th Annual North American Wife Carrying Championships

Saturday 11am

The tenth year running for this unique event that brings athletics to a new level. Competitors will carry their wives, girlfriends or friends over a 280-yard obstacle course with two log obstacles and a water hole.


 
 

26th Annual Blue Mountain Arts and Crafts Festival

Saturday 9am – 5pm ~ Sunday 9am – 3pm

Regional artists and artisans exhibit painting, fine jewelry, pottery, woodworking, photography, and more.  All exhibitors will be located throughout the cafeteria at the South Ridge Base Lodge.

Mountain Epic ~ The Peak to Peak Challenge

Sunday, Races Begin at 9am & 10am 

Mountain Epic expands to Three Races!  You will have the opportunity to compete in one of three courses that range in difficulty from tough to absolutely crazy hard. The 4-mile course is do-able for most athletes and tops one peak, the 7-mile course covers 5 peaks and the 12-mile course covers all 8 peaks of Sunday River. No matter what race you choose, it is guaranteed to be an epic experience!  Registration is now open!

Visit the indoor tent sale at the Sprint Discovery Center where you will find 50% off and more on demo equipment and apparel. Plus, check out this season’s newest gear inside Sunday River Sports, located in South Ridge Lodge.

 

 

Free Outdoor Concert , Slopeside at South Ridge Lodge

Featuring Entrain.  Epic in sound and kaleidoscopic in vision, the eclectic Martha's Vineyard-based six piece Entrain has been thrilling critics and fans alike since it's inception.  Opening for Entrain: The Swamp Donkeys.

 

Foggy Goggle Party

Saturday, 5pm-9pm

The party doesn't end at 5pm.  For the Foggy Goggle...it has just started with the return of one of our favorite apres ski bands, Never in Vegas. Never in Vegas knows how to do one thing, and that’s kick the hell out of a room with high energy rock and roll that will get everyone on their feet having a great time!

 

Wine Tasting 

Saturday Noon - 3pm

Enjoy an assortment of gourmet foods while sampling a variety of wines.  You'll be treated to local product from Pineland Farms including garlic & herb cheese fondue and beef tenderloin.  Plus you will get a true taste of Maine with Maine lobster salad bruschetta, truffled pate with Maine blueberry rosemary gastrique, and pork tenderloin crustini with warm apple compote.  $35 per person. Call 207-824-3500 to reserve your ticket.

Horse Drawn Wagon Rides & Kids Games & Activities

Chainsaw Woodcarving Demonstrations

Join Bill Fournier as he creates wood sculpture by chainsaw.

 

 

 

Sunday River Alpacas

Don't forget to stop by the booth and see the alpacas Topgun, Sundance  and of course "Mo the alpaca lady".  There will be spinning demonstrations happening all throughout the weekend and many beautiful alpaca products available for purchase.  Stop by and check out what's new! Celebrating 50 Years: A Historical Display

In honor of our birthday, view historical images and excerpts from the new book covering the resort's first 50 years. Author Dave Irons, long-time Sunday River loyalist and former Director of Ski Patrol, will be at our South Ridge office location on Saturday, 9-10 AM.

Gould Academy Competition Program Equipment Day

All GACP Program participants are welcome to join us in the Gould Academy Field house.  See the newest equipment and visit with reps from: Volkl - Fischer - Rossingnol - Swix - Blizzard - Head - Nordica - Tecnica - POC - Lange - Dynastar - Marker - Uvex.  Reps and coaches will be available to assist you in finding the right equipment.  All athletes will receive a free GACP t-shirt! Plus we'll be raffling off: 1. 09-10 GACP Program Fee 2. Interdonominational On-Mountain Worship Service

Join the Sunday River Christian Ministry for an interdenominational worship service on the deck of the Peak Lodge.  Service will be said by Reverend Don Coverdale and feature The Mollyockett Chorus.
