Family Fishing Festival
Saturday, 5/31/08
A fishing celebration designed just for kids. The pond at the Grand Summit Resort Hotel will be stocked with fish and kids will have free casting and fly tying clinics, free gear to use, and lots of prizes.
Special lodging packages are available from $109 for two people at the Grand Summit Hotel with breakfast included. Book online or call 800-543-2754.

Trek across Maine
Friday, 6/13/08 - Sunday, 6/15/08
Join two thousand others who come to enjoy three days of cycling from Sunday River to Maine coast to benefit the American Lung Association. A non-refundable, non-transferable $50 registration fee must be paid at the time of registration and each Trekker is required to have a fundraising minimum of $500. You can register online or email Trek to receive a hard copy of the form. Once you have registered, you can use online services to promote your fundraising and to track your progress. Fourth of July Celebration

Celebrate the fourth with the Bethel community. Events include a picnic at the Bethel Historical Society, concert by the Portland Brass Quintet and fireworks.
Bethel Art Fair

A celebration of art on the village common featuring Maine artists and artisans displaying painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry, pottery and more. Activities include kids games, live entertainment and food.
Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Festival

This annual event features displays of rough and finished gems and minerals plus jewelry from the western Maine region and guided field trips to local mines and a mineral swap.
Mollyockett Day

A community event featuring a parade, artisan booths on the village common, frog jumping contest and more. Also included is the Mollyockett Day Road Classic with a 5-mile road race, 3-mile walk and 1-mile kids fun run.
Maine State Triathlon Classic
Saturday, 8/2/08 - Sunday, 8/3/08
Saturday features the first annual kid's triathlon, and Sunday is the Maine State Triathlon on one of the most beautiful courses in New England with a 1k swim on Songo Pond, 25k road bike and 5k trail run.
Sudbury Canada Days

A celebration of the region's history presented by the Bethel Historical Society featuring lectures, an old-time arts and crafts show, historical films, architectural tours, a log drivers' bean supper and more.
Bethel Harvest Fest

An old-fashioned New England festival on the village common with a chowder cook-off, apple pie contest and more.
