Scenic Lift Rides

During the summer, Sunday River offers scenic rides on its  Chondola lift to the top of North Peak, giving visitors spectacular views of the Mahoosuc Mountains and valley below! Visible from the summit are Sunday River's Aurora Peak and Jordan Bowl, along with Goose Eye and Old Speck Mountain - the third highest peak in Maine with an elevation of 4,170 feet. For the ride up, guests can choose between open chairlifts or an enclosed gondola. Lift tickets are good for round trip transportation but for guests interested in hiking back down, we offer trail maps with recommended routes as a great alternative.

The Peak Lodge on North Peak is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (weather permitting) from 11 - 2 p.m. While there, hike around the perimeter of North Peak and check out the views of mountains and valley from The Peak’s observation deck or take time to enjoy an assortment of beverages including beer, wine, homemade blueberry soda and blueberry lemonade. For those who work up an appetite, an array of summertime specialties ranging from hot dogs, burgers, chips and ice cream are also available.

Chondola scenic lift service is available Friday - Sunday 10 – 4 p.m. starting on Friday, June 25, 2010.
