OK, my prediction about Carmona having jitters (see above) just materialized. How does Red Sox nation feel about JD Drew right about now? Here is the only quesiton remaining for tonight? Who pitches tomorrow? My money is on Beckett.
Dice-K is starting. I believe its already been announced, but he'll be on a short leash. Beckett could probably relieve, a la Pedro in 1999, since its his day to throw a bullpen session during normal rest.
I guess it's ok for you to post again? Bandwagon musta just pulled up.
All aboard!!!!jump on, Joker. Last time I checked the bandwagon you're on lost a couple of wheels, the rest of them are flat and the captain just jumped off.

Boy, that Papelbon sure can dance! My entire neighborhood was deliriously happy last night -- car horns going off, people screaming in the streets, high-fives with strangers:
BOSTON RED SOX -- 2007 AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
It sure was a great weekend to be a Boston sports fan:
1. The Head of the Charles Regatta with near-perfect conditions.
2. B's throw a shutout on Causeway Street and are 4-2.
3. The college football team down Comm Ave is ranked number 2 in the nation and the smart kids at Harvard can beat those other smart kids from New Jersey.
4. Patriots fry the Fish.
Then the grandaddy of 'em all:
5. Sox put together another comeback and win the ALCS. Matsuzaka and Okajima pitch with honor and the children (Pedroia, Ellsbury, Pap, Youk) will lead them.
Four more wins to go, baby!
I wonder what happened to all those CLEVELAND INDIANS 2007 WORLD SERIES shirts they were selling before Game 5?

Ahhhh yes, jr and his bandwagon banter...he's nothing if not consistant.
Of course, all teams have a bandwagon effect in some form...in fact we have quite a contrast in baseball bandwagons these days...
Of course we have the Red Sox bandwagon that jr seems to know so much about, it is once again overflowing and nearing 2004 proportions...in fact it is so full one bandwagon is not enough...

Then there is the Rockies bandwagon...all shiney a new but can really seem to find anyone actually on it...

And of course there is the once proud yankee bandwagon...its glory days well in the past and such a sad site to behold, it would seem to be in need of some significant repair...

Schilling says he wants to play in Boston but knows he may be gone (light free agent market means he'll probably get a good offer from someone), says the only team he won't consider is the yankees (not sure they want him anyway).
Trade rumor heard this morning on the local sports talk radio...Coco Crisp, Jon Lester and Clay Bucholz to Minn for Johan Santana.

I will almost guarantee Santana in Yankee uniform next year. Also, hearing Scott Rolen to Yanks. A change of scenery might be good for him. Doesnt seem like he and LaRussa could live together any longer.
Also, I am now officially tired of Pap's dancing. OK, enough. It got old real fast. And by the way, Schilling is an a-hole. His blog is pure fantasy.

I hope Pap keeps dancing for as long as he wants, especially if it irritates yankee fans. As for Schilling, I think most people no matter their team affiliation will acknowledge that he ought to keep his yap shut more, but I'd still take him on my team for one more year.

By the way, here's Schilling blog entry from yesterday regarding free agency...call it "pure fantasy" if you want, but it seems pretty innocuous to me, the same stuff every free agent goes through on some level (although for better or worse he puts it out there for all to see)...
Free Agency? Weird.
Oct 30th, 2007 by Curt Schilling
Hard to believe that after 21 years in professional baseball, the first day of free agency would come when I was 40 years old. I’ve not been a free agent for one day of my career before today……
Filing for free agency is weird. I never knew or thought about how it happened. Representing myself I rounded up the legal details and figured out exactly how it works. For the next 15 days I can speak with other teams, and they can contact me, but no details can be discussed. They can only express interest. For the next 15 days the team that remains my first choice, the Sox, have exclusive rights. I guess I’ll find out how closely teams follow rules…..
So this huge thing, free agency, was accomplished by doing the following.
Place a phone call to the MLBPA, tell them you want to become a free agent, hang up.
Weird. Something that can be so life altering was pretty much a 48 second phone call. They file a letter with the commissioners office “A letter of intent” that lists all the players filing that day, and it’s official.
The list of teams that our family has talked over, that we think would be a fit for next year, should we not come back, are pretty much teams in cities we agree would be ok for our last year, and teams I think have a legitimate shot at being in the post season and/or World Series. Teams we didn’t include aren’t for any one reason. There are a million little things that go into this from stadiums to school districts to travel to spring training to etc. etc. etc. but the list represents the teams after Boston that have some of the off the field things that are big to us, plus the potential to go into October next year.
Cleveland, Detroit, Anaheim, New York Mets, Philadelphia, Atlanta, L.A., S.D., Arizona, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis, Milwaukee

The first official player movement of the Hot Stove season has happened...the Atlanta Braves traded shortstop Edgar Renteria to the Detroit Tigers for two prospects, outfielder Gorkys Hernandez and pitcher Jair Jurrjens. I don't know anything about the prospects to comment on the trade, except that does this mean the Red Sox won't have to pay any more of Rent-a-Wreck's salary, or do they just send the checks to Detroit instead of Atlanta?

signing them may be Cashman's priority, but staying may not be Rivera's or Posada's priority. Remember, Rivera already said Torre leaving will weigh heavily on his decision. The Yanks might as well blow it all up, let the FA's walk and start over. Well, except for Abreu and his $16m next year.

Add Santana to my prediction list. It should be noted that Free agent predictions are tough to make. Kicky, Rivera is using that as a ploy to get more $$. He has a point in that Mussina got Mo's money last year. In my opinion, the loyalty thing is media and agent hype. Players want money. Why would Mariano or Posada leave, they have been Yankees their entire careers....could you really see either of them in a uniform other than on with the interlocking NY?
Again, just opinions. Please let me know how I do on my predictions.
Is it safe to predict that I will be skiing next weekend? The temperatures look great. Going to put on my boots and watch the Pats.
