Simon Dumont comes home to Sunday River to host The Sixth Annual Dumont Cup, the biggest pro-am freeski competition in the East. Come check out the action as top pro freeskiers defend the cup against the best amateurs from across North America. This year's event moves to the new T72 terrain park trail for an even better course. Following the debut of halfpipe and slopestyle freeskiing in the Olympics, this year's Dumont Cup promises to be the biggest and best ever.
Ranked as a Platinum event by the Association of Freeskiing Professionals (AFP), the Dumont Cup draws the best amateur freeskiers from across North America and gives them a chance to compete against the sport's top pros. In 2013, it was Nick Goepper who took the top honors and became the first two-time Dumont Cup winner, followed by Gus Kenworthy in second and Joss Christensen in third. The winning trio managed to hold off an impressive amateur field, as well as a pro roster that included Jossi Wells, Colby West, PK Hunter, Matt Walker, JF Houle, LJ Strenio, Alex Beaulieu-Marchard, and, of course, Simon himself.
This year, Simon will once again lead the design of the course and with $20,000 in cash up for grabs, and AFP points on the line, you can expect top Olympic and X Games pros to return.
