What better way to spend a fall day than jamming out to some of New England's most popular bands? Detailed lineup to be announced soon.
Saturday: Tomorrow Morning and Gang of Thieves
Tomorrow Morning is a central Maine band known for mass-appeal, original music and creative renditions of popular covers. The band was founded by Adam Babcock, the singer/songwriter, when he decided to take his original music to the stage. Adam is known for catchy music and clever wordplay that keep listeners entertained all day long. Tomorrow Morning is becoming known for studio quality live performances and keeping New England dancing every weekend.
Gang of Thieves is stealing back the spirit of American rock n' roll! These legendary Vermont Rockers bring the funky fury of the northeast with them wherever they go. A national touring act, Gang of Thieves is coming to you live in support of their NEW ALBUM: THUNDERFUNK, recorded in Berkeley, California with Grammy Award-winning engineer Michael Rosen (Santana, Rancid, Less than Jake). The Gang was also recently nominated for "Rock Act of the Year" by the 2013 New England Music Awards and Best Funk Group by the 7 Days "Seven Daysies" contest. Gang of Thieves' sound and energy is a cross between Led Zeppelin and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, with a funky blast of Green Mountain soul thrown in the mix.
Sunday: The Pete Kilpatrick Band and The Mallet Brothers Band
Pete Kilpatrick hails from the music mecca of the northeast, Portland, Maine. He has been writing, recording, and performing regularly since 2002 and has released six independent albums to date, including the most recent, Heavy Fire (2012). Pete has been named Maine's best act four times in the Portland Best Music Awards and has performed over 1,200 shows since he began his career, sharing the stage with such notable acts as Dave Matthews Band, David Gray, Jason Mraz, Ray Lamontagne, Guster, Amos Lee, Matisyahu, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Brett Dennen, The Wailers, Dawes, Blues Traveler, and DJ Logic, among countless others.
The Mallett Brothers Band is a nationally touring alt-country/rock band from Maine. Slightly more rock than country, theirs is a musical melting pot that's influenced equally by folk, harder rock, punk, and psychedelic sounds. Led by brothers Luke and Will Mallett, the band is rounded out by Brian Higgins on drums, Nick Leen on bass, and Wally on dobro and electric guitar. It's song-driven music that holds up under the lens of solitary listening, but it's equally apt to crank a room full of rockers into whiskey-fueled high gear.
