O2X Summit Challenge« All Events September 26, 2014 - September 28, 2014
The O2X Sunday River Challenge tackles the mountain terrain of Sunday River following a simple philosophy: Nothing compares to the authentic challenges provided by Mother Nature.
Two courses of varying physical challenge and elevation gain will take athletes up some of Sunday River's most rugged and rewarding terrain and are designed to push both strength and spirit. Along the way runners will navigate natural obstacles before finishing their courses on top of summit with great views.
The Single Diamond course will begin at BaseCamp in front of South Ridge Lodge before traversing across to the base of White Cap and beginning to climb. The ruggest terrain, ravines, and rock faces will make this a fun - and challenging - course. With a finishing alttiude of 2,578 ft. at the summit of Locke Mountain the views of the Mahoosuc Mountains and the Sunday River Valley will be breathtaking.
The Double Diamond course will also begin at BaseCamp at South Ridge before heading towards White Cap and climbing up before running across the range just below each of Sunday River's top peaks. The finish , at a net elevation gain of 2,084 ft., overlooks incredible views of the Mahoosuc Mountains and New Hampshire's Preidential Range. After finishing, each course returns to North Peak where athletes can refresh with an ice-cold beer and take the Condola back down to BaseCamp.
