Boothbay Whale Watch

Whale watching trips begins with a scenic tour of Boothbay Harbor. Naturalist will point out various islands, homes, wildlife and historic lighthouses as you begin your journey in search of the whales.  Once you reach the whale's feeding ground, you will help in their search looking for any spouts, backs, bodies, tails or splashes. When you have the first whale in sight their experienced captains maneuvers the boat close for all to see! Naturalist will entertain and inform you with many interesting facts and figures about the whales you are viewing. Whales you may encounter include Finbacks, Humpbacks, Minkes, dolphins and porpoises. You also may see harbor seals, sharks, ocean sunfish and a great variety of open ocean birds. Cap'n Fish's Whale Watch

Captain Fish's originated whale-watching around Boothbay Harbor and is now in its third generation of family operation. Yet, despite its long history, its vessels are among the most modern and well-equipped. Besides the whale-watching trips, the company provides several other excursions of particular interest to birders, especially the Wednesday trips to Eastern Egg Rock for Atlantic Puffins.  1-800-636-3244   www.mainewhales.com
