Bethel Harvest Fest
Saturday, 9/20/08

Harvest Fest is mostly a Saturday event, but some Friday and Sunday items. You can not miss this old-fashioned fun fall festival that includes: "chowdah" cook-off,  arts & crafts fair, apple pie contest, demonstrations, hiking, biking, canoeing, chain saw carving, apple picking, farmers' market, plenty of food, guided & self-guided bike tours, and more...
Wagon rides are also part of the festival.
Come and enjoy a fun family festival with lots of exciting fall events.

Wife Carrying Championship
Saturday, 10/11/08 - Saturday, 10/11/08

The 9th annual North American Wife Carrying Championship takes place Saturday, October 11, 2008. Last year's event drew over 2,000 spectators to watch teams compete for the wife's weight in Bud Light beer plus cash. Starts 11 a.m. 

You have to see it to believe it! Feeling frisky? Register and have fun!


Fall Festival Weekend

The un-official kick-off to winter comes not at opening day, but at Fall Festival when we gather to say goodbye to summer. With live music, a wine tasting, the always entertaining North American Wife Carrying Championship and a full array of activities for the whole family, this year’s Fall Festival promises to be a hit.  See below for a schedule of events & activities.
Tin Mountain Round Up
Saturday, 11/8/08 - Sunday, 11/9/08
Help our local area food banks prepare for the upcoming winter by bringing 3 or more cans of food to the mountain and ski or ride for only $20. Help us build a giant mountain of food for this great cause.
TBD Open Rail Jam

An Early season rail jam with early season elements. The TBD is back for its 3rd year, full of prizes and more suprises.

Annual Demo Days

Santa Sunday

Come celebrate the arrival of winter and the upcoming holiday season while raising money for a good cause with our 9th annual Santa Sunday. Dress in a full Santa costume and you can ski or ride for free, plus get two free early-season lift tickets to come back.
Christmas Vacation Week

Comedian Lenny Clarke returns to Sunday River for the 2009 Lenny Clarke Celebrity Ski Classic to benefit The Genesis Fund. with over 250 previous participants, we are looking forward to another great year and weekend! Learn more here.

Celebrate being 50 and active with an exciting week exclusively for skiers and riders ages 50 and older. Get ready for a week filled with special events, entertainment and activites, and our annual old-fashioned sock hop.

Visa US Snowboarding Cup
Friday, 2/27/09 - Sunday, 3/1/09

Sunday River will be hosting the 2009 Snowbording Cup. Watch as the top Snowboardcross and parellel giant salom compete for the title to be number 1.

24rd Annual Maine Handicapped Skiing Ski-A-Thon
Saturday, 3/21/09
Join Maine Handicapped Skiing as they raise funds to support their free programs for adaptive skiers and riders. Participate in a fun race, obstacle course and other great activities. To learn more about MHS, visit www.skimhs.org.
19th Annual Eat the Heat Chili Cookoff and Firefighters' Race
Sunday, 3/22/09 - Sunday, 3/22/09

Watch teams of five firefighters skiing in full turnout gear and carrying a hose as they compete to raise money for Maine Handicapped Skiing. Then,  sample chili from the best cooks in the state as they vie for the prize of Best Chili Cook. Try all the samples and vote for People's Choice.

Activities take place at White Cap Lodge. Come and enjoy a full day of good food, fun and live entertainment.

21st Annual Parrot Head/Bust N Burn Festival
Friday, 4/3/09 - Sunday, 4/5/09

This annual festival is a weekend in paradise! All weekend celebrate with Jimmy Buffet cover bands, contests, prizes, parties, and more! Sunday, Pond Skimming kicks off the day, followed by our famous Key-lime pie eating contest. Help the Parrot Head Club of Maine spend a fantastic weekend, with skiing, parties, sun and more! All proceeds go to Make a Wish Foundation.

And don't forget a Sunday River favorite: the Bust N Burn Moguls competition. Mark your calendar now for the party of the year!

Easter Weekend
Saturday, 4/11/09 - Sunday, 4/12/09

Enjoy an Easter Egg hunt and apperances by the Easter bunny, games movies, and so much more! It's an Easter celebration full of fun activities perfect for the entire family. 

Plus on Easter Sunday you can attend our sunrise service on the top of Barker Mountain.
