Sunday River's Fourth Annual White Out Weekend (WOW!)
Sunday River's annual three-day PRIDE party gets a patriotic twist just in time for SochiJanuary 28, 2014
Newry, ME (January 28, 2014)-White Out Weekend (also known as WOW!) is when Sunday River gets both proud and loud. Come up and join the party (a weekend-long party) from Friday, Feb. 7 to Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014.
WOW! kicks off with a Meet n' Ski at the Peak Lodge at 10 a.m. on Friday. Ski your little heart out and then reunite with everyone who you left in your snow dust for après at the Foggy Goggle. From 3 to 7 p.m., the Dave Gagne Duo will supply a hefty dose of live entertainment, and then later that night, the Matterhorn Ski Bar is hosting a "Tight & Bright" party. Plan to don that electric lemon leotard you've been itching to release on the world. There will also be glow sticks. Lots and lots of glow sticks.
Come Saturday morning, reconvene with your buds at 10 a.m. at the Peak Lodge. Word on the slope is that they serve a Bloody Mary that is incredibly tasty and comes with those much needed post-glow stick party rejuvenation powers. Once you've landed back on your feet, feel free to use them to ski or snowboard with for the rest of the morning or let us sweep you off of them completely with a Zipline Tour at 1 p.m.
Of course, some feet were made for dancing and luckily for you, that's just what you'll want to do when you hear the sounds of The Pop Disaster playing in the Foggy Goggle from 3 to 7 p.m. Sip a cocktail (or three) and stick around, because a firework show kicks off at 8:30 p.m. and is best viewed from the Foggy Goggle's deck. Conveniently, these red, white, and blue bursts of sparkle make for a nice start (yes, start), to the biggest event of WOW! Weekend-The Party at The Peak with live entertainment by DJ extraordinaire, DJ Maryalice.
In true WOW! form, Sunday River is taking its annual Party at The Peak and turning the dial to 11 with a red, white, and blue celebration worthy of a gold medal. Come sporting your most glamorous attire that screams "American Pride."
This all sounds insanely fun, right? Don't stress about having too much fun (it happens all of the time here) during Sunday River's wild White Out Weekend, because we've got slopeside ski and stay packages starting at $129 per person, per night that include lodging, lift tickets, and an adult ski or snowboard clinic per each night booked. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you get a huge WOW! out of White Out Weekend. For more information on Sunday River's White Out Weekend, visit sundayriver.com.
