Woodward Mini Camp Tour Comes To Sunday River Resort

The legendary action sports camp is bringing an action-packed, two-day clinic to Sunday River March 22-23

February 10, 2014

Newry, ME (February 10, 2014)-If watching the U.S. freeski and snowboard athletes fly through the air with the greatest of ease has you or someone you know set on becoming the next medaled athlete, or even the cameraman responsible for shooting one of these world-renowned events, look no further than the Woodward Mini Camp Tour, coming to the slopes of Sunday River March 22-23.

Founded in 1970 in rural Pennsylvania, Camp Woodward facilities, which are now located throughout the U.S. (with one in China), host thousands of aspiring and professional action sports athletes from around the world, including current and future Olympians.

For this two-day camp beginning on March 22, Camp Woodward will bring the expert instruction for which they're best known, along with a few guest visitors, including professional freeskier Simon Dumont.

The Woodward Mini Camp offers three divisions at this event: freeski, snowboard, and digital media. Skiing and snowboarding Woodward campers will have access to private learning areas and terrain parks. Digital media campers will also have access to iMac computers and software, as well as camera equipment, like tripods, sliders and dollies, Sony FS-700 camcorders, Canon 7D cameras and lens kits, wireless microphones, light panels, and an 8-foot jib arm. This gear will allow them to engage in a creative video production workshop with Camp Woodward instructors currently working in the action sports, commercial, and television industries.

The price for this two-day camp is $329, or $269 for season passholders. That cost includes professional instruction, access to private learning areas and parks, lunch, activities, contests, GoPro rentals, giveaways, an end-of-camp party, and a chance to win a free week at Camp Woodward this summer.

There are 60 spots available on a first-come-first-serve basis beginning this week: 24 total snowboard spots, 24 total ski spots, and 12 total digital media spots.
