12/6/13- Afternoon Update
Our crews have been working like champions and it will show tomorrow at T72 First Drop. There’s a few exciting changes so listen up…Here’s the breakdown: T72 will open at 8 a.m. and can be accessed by taking the Chondola then Second Mile…Prepared to have your breath taken away. That’s right, unlike we had previously stated, this means that T72 will be open from top-to-bottom! It will feature a 4 jump line…The biggest in the East along with 10 rails in the jib park at the foot of the trail. First come, first serve…Be one of the first to ever throw down tricks in this brand-new park.
Just wait…There’s more: Along with our beloved T72 will be other new trails and lifts opening across different peaks this weekend. The park crew plans on opening Who-Ville with 2 small boxes, rollers, and a small jump. The Barker Mountain Express, Spruce Peak Triple, South Ridge Express, and Chondola will open at 8 a.m. with the North Peak Express and Sundance Surface Lift scheduled to start spinning at 9 a.m. This means North Peak Express will provide another route to T72. Not to mention, snowmaking is back on tonight and all open terrain will be freshly groomed for tomorrow…Phew! Now take a minute to let that all sink in.
Need a little Christmas spirit to go along with our new terrain? Great. Our annual Santa Sunday is December 8 with the Santas hitting the slopes at 11 a.m. Registration is full for this year but it’s still a free event that you don’t want to miss.
We’ve said it once…We’ll say it a million times. Our snowmakers are the best in the biz. Not only do they battle weather, they make it. If you haven’t seen it already…Sunday River snowmakers starred in a pilot for a television show called Man vs. Weather. They wanted to showcase the best snowmakers in America, the dedication involved, and the raw weather that they face. Seventy-two hours fueled with endless cans of Red Bull, plus three inches of rain followed by subzero temperatures and the need for a smelting net, and you have just some of the reasons why we’re the best in America. We don’t give up. Ever. Need Proof? Check it out here.
The holiday season is here…This means you probably need to start thinking about gifts for family and friends, right? Don’t worry about it, we’ve got you covered. There’s no better gift than a ticket to your Happy Place. New England Passes and Frequent Skier Cards are guaranteed to put a smile on their face and make great stocking stuffers!
All this week, lift tickets are $59 for adults, $49 for teens and $39 for juniors and seniors, but always less if you buy your tickets online in advance.
Barker Lodge is open for ticket sales and food, while at South Ridge you'll find full services, including tickets, season passes, food, rental equipment, and our retail store. Please note that ski and snowboard school won’t start until December 6, but private clinics are available now.
