COVID-19 Information

This winter, you'll see many changes in your arrival experience to Sunday River, the flow through our base lodges, and services offered to guests before they hit the slopes. Please review this information in advance of your arrival to the resort so you'll know exactly what to expect. 

Resort Arrival

    • Traffic flow through parking areas will be adjusted at South Ridge and Barker. Please follow signage and attendant directions. 
    • Use of drop-off areas at each base are will be encouraged for families and groups to reduce shuttle volume.
    • Satellite parking will be available for day-use at the Grand Summit and Jordan Hotels with portable restrooms, shuttle service, or direct ski-out access available. Please see ticketing information for RFID card pick-up at these locations. 
    • Shuttles will operate at reduced capacity to allow spacing between parties and follow state guidelines.
    • Shuttle routes and drop-off locations for day guests will vary based on lodge capacity at the time of pick-up. 
    • We ask guests to prepare for their day at their car as much as possible.
    • Traffic flow through the lodges and base areas will be different than a typical winter, including designated entrances and exits at all lodges. 
    • Capacity limits will be set for each space within the lodge, and will be tracked. 
    • Masks will be required in all indoor public spaces, except when seated to eat. 
    • Guests are encouraged to minimize the amount of time spent in base lodges, with a limit of 30 minutes. 
    • Seating will be limited in each room following state guidelines and tables will be spaced six feet apart.
    • Bag storage will not be permitted. Guests are encouraged to leave bags in their cars and carry snacks or other items with them. 
    • Restroom access will be limited to specific entrances only to reduce walking traffic through lodges. 

Skier Services

    • We do not currently plan on requiring reservations for Season Pass, Ikon Pass, or ticket pack holders. 
    • Lift tickets may have limited availability on peak dates. This would be determined as we get into the season. Tickets in ski and stay packages will not be affected.
    • Online lift ticket purchases will be encouraged, and possibly required. Contactless pickup kiosks will be available at all base lodges and resort hotels. 
    • The Welcome Center at South Ridge Lodge will have expanded hours on Friday nights for ticket pickup to avoid Saturday morning congestion and delays.
    • Season passes purchased before September 1 will be mailed, with the exception of College and Community passes which require status verification and on-site pickup late this fall. Passes purchase on September 1 or later can be picked up at the resort during operating hours.

    • Summer lodging reservations for arrivals through October 31, 2020 will have the flexibility to cancel for a full refund up to 48 hours prior to arrival for any reason. If canceled within 48 hours, 50% of the total reservation value will be withheld.
    • Winter lodging reservations will be fully refunded in the event of a COVID-related travel ban or unexpected resort closure. Our regular cancellation and Trip Protection policies apply to all other circumstances.
    • 2020-21 Season Passes are covered by the protections and benefits of our Winter Assurance program.
    • Unused days on 2019/20 Threedom Passes or New England 5-Days remain valid to December 24, 2020.
    • 2019-20 Snow Guarantee vouchers issued and dated March 1, 2020 or later will remain valid through December 24, 2020.
    • Online reservations will be encouraged. 
    • Expanded hours on Friday night at South Ridge Lodge for weekend arrivals.
    • Rental equipment will be available at South Ridge Lodge and Jordan Hotel locations.
    • Shops will have limited capacity and social distancing measures.
    • Equipment is sanitized thoroughly between uses according to CDC guidelines.
    • Daycare services will not be available this winter, as state guidelines require consistency among the group of children in attendance. 
    • Advanced reservations for SnowSports School lessons are required.
    • Class sizes will have a 5:1 student to coach ratio to keep groups small. 
    • We have added new private clinic options for families to take a lesson together. 
    • We will have dedicated SnowSports School indoor areas around the resort for warm-up/bathroom breaks. Indoor break areas will be disinfected after each use.
    • Team members working with lessons will be required to wear face coverings when inside at all times and outside when social distancing is not possible.
    • Children will be required to wear masks inside and outside when social distancing is not possible.
    • Unless rentals are needed for children, lesson check-in and pick-up will be completed outdoors. 
    • We will be adding a weekend to the Mini Runner, River Runner, 8 Peaks and Junior Professional programs. 
    • We will be adjusting our daily program schedule for all Children's Seasonal Programs to the following schedules: 
      • GACP - Drop-off and pick-up will be slopeside at Barker, and programming will run from 8:30AM to 12:30PM on days the program is in session.
      • River Runners8 Peaks and Junior Professionals - Drop-off and pick-up will be slopeside at White Cap, and programming will run from 9AM (drop off by 8:45AM) to 1PM on days the program is in session.
      • Mini Runners - Drop-off and pick-up will be slopeside at South Ridge, and programming will run from 8:45AM (8:30AM drop-off) to 12PM on days the program is in session.
    • Lunch will NOT be included for these programs, but we will have an optional Add-On Lunch available for River Runners, 8 Peaks, Junior Professionals and GACP. The Add-On Lunch will include a one-hour supervised lunch at the end of the program on Saturdays and holiday days the program is in session. 
    • We will have dedicated SnowSports School/GACP indoor areas around the resort for warm-up/bathroom breaks. Each seasonal program group will have scheduled times and locations for their indoor breaks. Indoor break areas will be disinfected after each use.
    • Team members working with your children will be required to wear face coverings when inside at all times and outside when social distancing is not possible.
    • Children will be required to wear masks inside and outside when social distancing is not possible.
