COVID-19 Information

Sunday River is pleased to continue to offer on-site lodging to guests this winter. Please review the guidelines below prior to booking, as well as in advance of your arrival at the resort to ensure you have the most up-to-date information for your stay.

Safety Practices & Operational Changes

  • The state of Maine has established a set of requirements for lodging guests traveling from outside of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey, including guidelines for quarantines during lodging stays. Please review the Keep Maine Healthy Plan and Certificate Of Compliance prior to your visit if traveling from outside these states.

    • The Grand Summit Hotel, Jordan Hotel, and Snow Cap Inn will operate following state guidelines.
    • The Youth Lodge, as a group-oriented property, will not open this winter.
    • Slopeside condos are not owned or maintained by Sunday River, but will have their own protocols and booking information available. For a list of available properties, view our area lodging page
    • Guests may check-in at the front desk upon arrival. When you arrive, please have only one member of your party complete the check-in process.
    • Alternately, guests may call the front desk beginning at 7AM on the day of arrival, allowing you to simply show an ID upon arrival to pick up your room keys. Please provide your name or reservation number as well as a credit card for incidentals, and confirm your date and time of departure, room type, and remaining balance. Our team will review plans for breakfast and other policies.
    • Luggage carts will be staged and sanitized in the lobby for your use. For winter, we intend to have bell-hop service available, but may not have valet parking.
    • At the end of your stay, check out can be contactless by calling the front desk before departing. Keys may be left in the room or in a drop box located in the lobby.
    • Masks are required in all public spaces within the hotel, and outdoors when six feet of distance cannot be maintained.
    • All staff will wear face coverings and gloves when social distancing cannot be maintained. Housekeeping will wear masks and gloves.
    • Occupied rooms will be spaced throughout the hotel whenever possible.
    • Pools, hot tubs, and fitness centers will have limited occupancy, and are open from 10AM-10PM.
    • Hand sanitizer stations will be placed throughout hotel entrances, lobbies, elevator areas.
    • Ecolab Hospitality Guidelines will be followed for cleaning and high-touch common areas will be sanitized hourly.
    • Rooms are thoroughly sanitized before and after guest use.
    • Housekeeping will be offered every other day as a light refresh for your room during your stay, but will not be completed while guests are in the room. Guests may opt-out of housekeeping by contacting the front desk.
    • Elevators are limited to one household or traveling party per use. Elevators are cleaned and disinfected regularly.
    • If you experience a maintenance issue in your room during your stay, you will be asked to leave the room while a designated Team Member resolves the program.
    • Summer lodging reservations for arrivals through October 31, 2020 will have the flexibility to cancel for a full refund up to 48 hours prior to arrival for any reason. If canceled within 48 hours, 50% of the total reservation value will be withheld.
