COVID-19 Information

For details on the operations of each restaurant please visit the Dining Guide. Weekly schedules can be found on The River Guide and the Sunday River App. Please note that face coverings are required in all public indoor and outdoor areas at the resort.

Safety Practices & Operational Changes

  • Before you travel to the resort, we ask that you go through the following health screening questions on your own. If you answer "yes" to any of the following, please stay home and come visit us when you're feeling better. 

    • Do you have any of the following symptoms of COVID-19?
      • Fever (a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher) or are feeling feverish;
      • Respiratory symptoms such as a runny nose, nasal congestion, sore throat, cough, or shortness of breath;
      • General body symptoms such as muscle aches, chills, and severe fatigue;
      • Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea; or
      • Changes in your sense of taste or smell.
    • Have you been in close contact with someone who is suspected or confirmed to have had COVID-19 in the past 14 days? 
      • Please note: healthcare workers caring for COVID-19 patients while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment are not considered to have a close contact exposure and should answer “No” to this question.
    • Have you traveled on non-essential travel in the past 14 days outside of Maine or a state exempted from testing and quarantine requirements?
      • This includes any international travel or travel by cruise ship and any domestic travel, within the US, outside of an exempted state, regardless of the mode of transportation.
  • Face coverings are required for all guests and team members in all public indoor and outdoor areas at the resort, unless actively skiing downhill or actively eating.

    Please follow CDC recommendations and pertinent executive orders from the State of Maine. Face coverings should be dry and unsoiled, have two or more layers, completely cover the nose and mouth with no holes or mesh, and fit snugly against the face. While indoors, this will most likely necessitate using a separate mask from the one worn while skiing.

    • Reservations are strongly recommended for select outlets and can be booked on the Sunday River website, OpenTable, or by calling. If there is no availability online, we will have limited walk-in availability depending on restaurant capacity and/or cancellations. 
    • Seated dining requires one name and phone number per party for contact tracing.
    • Restaurants will have limited capacities and will be monitored. 
    • Due to capacity restrictions, guests are asked to limit their time in base lodge seating areas, restaurants, and outdoor tables to ensure fair opportunities to dine for all guests. 
      • Base lodges & outdoor tables: 30-45 minutes
      • Sit-down restaurants: 45-90 minutes 
    • Indoor and outdoor seating has been spaced to allow for distancing of six feet between parties. Restaurants will not have standing areas. 
    • Seating per table will be limited to eight or less, with most tables seating a maximum of four.
    • All patrons, including children, must remain seated when in dining facilities except to enter, exit, and use the restroom. 
    • Guests are required to wear masks except when eating.
    • To offer a minimal-touch experience, some outlets will offer pay-at-table, pay via QR code located on your check, or online when ordering takeout.
    • All service items will be single-use and/or disposable, and utensils will be wrapped.
    • Grand Ave at the Jordan Hotel will offer a variety of all-you-can-eat soup service.
    • Camp at the Grand Summit Hotel will offer seated a la carte lunch service. 
    • The Last Run Room at the Grand Summit will offer lunch and après by Chef Harding Lee Smith.
    • The Upper Deck and Crow's Nest at White Cap Lodge will offer libations and food from Shipyard Brewing Company.
    • The Woody food truck will offer grab-and-go options at Barker Base Area.
    • Online ordering will be available for exterior pick-up from the South Ridge Food Court, Camp, and Sliders.
