Sunday River Appoints Jake Treadwell as Vice President of Mountain Operations

Current VP Karl Strand to transition to Sugarloaf as new President and General Manager

Sunday River Resort has selected Jake Treadwell as its new Vice President of Mountain Operations, effective April 1, 2015. Treadwell will replace current VP Karl Strand, who is transitioning to become Sugarloaf's new President and General Manager, also effective in April. Both Sunday River and Sugarloaf are members of the Boyne family of resorts.

Today, at 9:00 am, Sunday River Resort opens to anyone with a season pass or lift ticket. After turning on the snowguns Saturday night, the resort will fire up Locke Mountain Triple this morning for access to its T2 trail. Skiers and riders who show up in costume will get free lift tickets.

Last season, parent company Boyne Resorts invested $5.7 million in Sunday River, and with the upcoming projects, Boyne will have invested more than $40 million in the Newry, Maine resort since 2007.
