Meet Erika Roy

Sunday River's Parks Manager

As we close out Women's History Month, we are shining a light on one of the people who makes Sunday River special.

Meet Erika Roy.

Erika has been snowboarding since she was young, and terrain park culture grabbed her early. Not just the riding, but everything around it: the creativity, the community, and the constant drive to progress. It became the through line of everything she has done since.

A Career Built Across the Industry

Her path to Sunday River winds through a lot of interesting territory. She has worked on park crews on the East Coast, taken on operations roles out west, and spent years working events alongside some of the biggest names in snowboarding, including Burton, the U.S. Open, X Games, and Dew Tour.

She has seen the industry from a lot of different angles, and she brought all of that experience with her when she joined us this season as Parks Manager.

From the Snowcat Seat to the PistenBully Rep Program

One thing that truly sets Erika apart is her time in the snowcat seat. Over several seasons she pursued grooming with real dedication, driven by genuine curiosity about every aspect of the craft. That ground-level understanding of how a mountain works beneath the surface shapes the way she thinks about parks, conditions, and rider experience in ways that are hard to teach.

The broader industry has taken notice. She recently became a PistenBully representative, a reflection of her passion for the work and her commitment to creating more space for women in grooming and mountain operations.

Bringing Something New to Sunday River

Here at Sunday River, that energy shows up every day on the hill. This season Erika has brought fresh programming to the parks, including Party in the Park and Women's Demo Day earlier this month, building events that give riders of all levels a reason to show up, connect, and push their riding forward.

As one of the only female parks managers in the country, Erika is making a name for herself well beyond our mountain. We are really glad she landed here, and we cannot wait to see what she builds next.

Women in Patrol

Check This Out

Meet Sarah, Diane, and Amy, some of the heroes behind Sunday River Ski Patrol. Day in and day out, they put their skills to the test by responding to emergencies, providing first aid, and managing the safety of the slopes.

They are an integral part of our community, and a shining example of what it means to serve with passion and purpose. As Women’s History Month comes to a close, join us as we get to know some of the women of patrol.
