Online reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made for the South Ridge Rental Shop here. Booking a multi-day rental reserves your equipment for each day. Please note that online reservations must be made by 3PM the day before. Any later will require a walk-in request.

Walk-in rental requests are also accepted, but will require each users' information be filled out in person. Those with online reservations can skip this process and head straight to a tech station to be fitted.

When booking online, you will be prompted to enter all of your skier information, such as your height and weight. This is necessary so the shop can set up your equipment correctly. Please review the Skier Type Classification information. Your rental is non-refundable, but if you cannot attend on the day you booked, you can contact the rental shop at equipmentrentals@sundayriver.com for a voucher to use another day.

Rental equipment can be picked up and dropped off at the same location where it was rented. The South Ridge Rental Shop is located slopeside in the tunnel at South Ridge Lodge.

Rentals are available 30 minutes before lifts start spinning and can be returned up to 30 minutes after lifts close.

Type I: Cautious skiing on smooth slopes of gentle to moderate pitch

Skiers who designate themselves as Type I receive lower than average release/retention settings. This corresponds to an increased risk of inadvertent binding release in order to promote a release in case of a fall. This type also applies to entry-level skiers uncertain of their classification.

Type II: Skiers not classified as Type I or III

Skiers who designate themselves as Type II receive average release/retention settings appropriate for most recreational skiing.

Type III: Fast skiing on slopes of moderate or steep pitch

Skiers who designate themselves as Type III receive higher than average release/retention settings. This corresponds to decreased release-ability in a fall in order to gain a decreased risk of inadvertent binding release. This classification is not recommended for skiers under 45lbs.

Determining your skier type is your responsibility. Your skier type, height, weight, age, and boot sole length are used by the technician to determine the release and retention settings for your bindings. Consult the descriptions above to select your classification. Be sure to provide accurate information, as errors may increase your risk of injury.

Want to skip the line in the morning? Pick up your equipment after 2PM the day before your reservation and have everything ready to go for your day on the slopes. Online reservations are also able to skip the customer sign-in and head straight to a tech station.
