Early Season Guide

The Season Starts In Jordan

This winter, get ready to redefine "Early Season". We've flipped the script on what you can expect during the first weeks of the season – and it starts in Jordan.

New For This Season

Snowmaking runs in our DNA, and thanks to the brand-new snowmaking pipeline into Jordan, we've unlocked the power to triple our snowmaking capacity in the area.

This season, winter operations will kick off in the Jordan Bowl. While Mother Nature will have the final say, our plan is to open with top-to-bottom skiing and multiple trail choices. This will all be serviced by our 8-place Doppelmayr D-Line chairlift, the Jordan 8. Featuring heated seats, a weather-protective bubble, and a ride time of just over 4 and a half minutes, you'll ride to the most open early-season terrain in style.

Dining options will be mere steps away, and guest services will also be available for those with lift tickets or season pass needs. The Guest Services center at the South Ridge Base Lodge will still be open for those looking for assistance before heading out to Jordan.

As the cherry on top, the Jordan Hotel will offer ski-in, ski-out lodging earlier than ever before.

Experience the Future

Sunday River, along with sister resorts Big Sky, Loon, Boyne Mountain, The Highlands, and Brighton are proud to operate state-of-the-art Doppelmayr D-Line chairlifts. The Jordan 8, which opened last year, will be joined by the Barker 6 this coming season.

  • Guests who are not staying at the Jordan Hotel should park in the Day Parking Jordan Lot, which is just before the Jordan Hotel on the left. The Day Parking Jordan Lot will offer ski-in and ski-out access via the Boots On and Boots Off ski trails.

  • The shuttle from South Ridge to Jordan will run from 7:30AM – 4:30PM and will be on call.  To request a shuttle, guests should call or visit the front desk at the Jordan Hotel, the Grand Summit Hotel, or Guest Services at the Welcome Center in South Ridge Lodge.

  • At this time, the bag check will be closed in the South Ridge base area, however, guests with seasonal lockers will have access to the locker rooms in South Ridge and Barker.

  • Guests who need to pick up their season pass may visit the Welcome Center at South Ridge Lodge or at the PUBs (Pick Up Boxes) in the Jordan Basin. Guest Services will have a location inside the base terminal of the Jordan 8 for guest support and to purchase day tickets only.

  • Guests who want to check access on their RFID Go Card (Season Pass, Ticket Packs, Lift Tickets, and Ikon Passes) before heading out to Jordan are encouraged to stop by the Welcome Center in South Ridge Lodge, or check their pass status online.

  • Guests must pick up their IKON Pass at Guest Services in the Welcome Center in South Ridge Lodge.

  • Guests who need to reprint their season pass can only do so at the Welcome Center in South Ridge Lodge.

  • Wi-fi is available at the bottom of the Jordan 8 in the Jordan Basin.

  • Restrooms will be available near the Outpost and Sliders which can be accessed via the Lollapalooza ski trail.

  • Out of respect for hotel guests, we kindly ask that those not staying at the hotel get ready at their vehicles and store their gear in their cars. Unattended bags left in the hotel will be removed by Sunday River Public Safety.

  • Sliders at the Jordan Hotel will be open for lunch at 11 AM.

  • For a full list of trails and conditions, please visit our Mountain Report.

  • Rentals will be available at South Ridge for intermediate and above skiers and can be reserved ahead of time online. For more information on rentals, click here.
