The Iglu
Step Inside Something Extraordinary
The Iglu at Sunday River isn't just a venue. It's an experience that exists nowhere else on the East Coast — and it's returning for the 2025/26 season.
Located in the Jordan Bowl at the base of the Jordan 8, this architectural marvel is carved entirely from snow and ice, transforming winter into an immersive sensory journey.
Inspired by centuries-old European alpine tradition and crafted by master builders, The Igloo represents the perfect fusion of Old World artistry and Maine mountain innovation. Every surface is intentional. Every detail is carved by hand. Every visit is unforgettable.
This is winter, elevated.

Built to Be Experienced
The Iglu at Sunday River is the only true slopeside ice lounge in North America, bringing centuries-old European alpine tradition to the Maine mountains. At the center sits a hand-carved ice bar featuring intricate Sunday River detailing—order a craft cocktail, take a seat on snow-formed benches, and soak in an atmosphere unlike anything else in New England.
Every season is unique, shaped by natural conditions and the artistry of those who build it. It's not just a structure—it's a living piece of alpine heritage that transforms Jordan Bowl into something extraordinary. The structure lives and breathes with the mountain, making every winter—and every visit—truly unique.
Extraordinary Craftsmanship. Unforgettable Experience.
