Gould Academy Competition Program
Next Level Competition
Sunday River is proud to partner with Gould Academy, a private college preparatory school located just 6 miles away in Bethel, to offer the premier ski and snowboard competition programs in the Northeast.
The Gould Academy Competition Program (GACP) is designed for advanced skiers and snowboarders ages 8 to 19, and future stars ages 6 to 7 with a desire to improve their ability and compete in alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, snowboarding, or ski cross. This is a season-long program that runs on weekends and holidays, focused on teaching young athletes the skills to compete in their chosen discipline. GACP combines the resources of Gould Academy and Sunday River to offer a high level of instruction with experienced coaches and low coach-to-athlete ratios complemented by the terrain and support of the ski resort, including dedicated training space. In 2020, GACP took a giant leap forward with the addition of the Alera Group Competition Lift, a T-Bar next to the training venue on Locke Mountain, which allows athletes to spend more time on snow and make the most of their training opportunities.
For athletes who want to pursue ski or snowboard competitions further, Gould Academy incorporates full-time competition programs into their overall school curriculum to offer an unmatched opportunity for student-athletes.
