The Great Tailgate
Spring isn't complete without a rockin' parking lot party

Jamaican Vacation Theme
After a day on the slopes, join us for the Great Tailgate in the Barker parking lot for live music and fun. Our top tips for a great tailgate? Awesome food, sunscreen, plenty of games, a pair of shoes to change into after hitting the slopes, and responsible partying! This is event will be held rain or shine, so be sure to pack a tent and your Gore-Tex.
Get your car to the Barker parking lot nice and early to secure your spot, and decorate your tailgate site on-theme for a chance to win a coveted tailgate trophy. This day of family fun is made better by live entertainment from Royal Hammer, a seven-piece roots reggae collective from Portland, Maine. Comprised of some of Portland's most talented and seasoned musicians, Royal Hammer has for many years paid thoughtful and respectful homage to the great traditions of Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown, Roots Radics and many others. Due to the weather forecast, we'll plan to have the live music inside the lodge in Barker Bar.
This year's theme is Jamaican Vacation.
And, no need to worry about driving home, simply stay at the resort in one of our two amazing hotels. We've got you covered so you can ski, eat, drink, and dance. All. Weekend. Long.
Plus, the Ski Museum of Maine is joining in on the fun with the Skee Spree silent auction from 10 am to 2 pm at the Barker Base Lodge. Items include summer getaways for fly fishing, rafting and golf, framed posters and artwork, and sports equipment. Have memories of the early days at Sunday River? The University of Maine's Folk Life Center Oral History staff will be there to record your stories.
