How Terrain Based Learning Will Impact the Beginner Experience at Sunday River

Last year, Sunday River expanded the acreage on the learning trail, Sundance, in preparation for three new covered conveyor lifts to be installed for the 2019/20 season. The Lower, Middle, and Upper Sundance Surface Lifts will offer incremental access to Sunday River's learning terrain, which will include Terrain Based Learning^TM features designed by the industry experts on conversion and growth, SNOW Operating. Their model uses shaped snow features to naturally control speed and assist learning so that newcomers can focus on the fun without the fear of falling. Experience Bon Appetit's 2018 Restaurant City of the Year in the Mountains

Located just an hour-and-a-half from the slopes of Sunday River, Portland, Maine, has become a foodie destination. But if you don't want to stop in the city on your way to the mountains, there are ways to experience those excellent flavors on the slopes. In the last few years, Sunday River has developed partnerships with Harding Lee Smith of The Rooms Restaurants, as well as Joe Christopher of Three Dollar Deweys, and will bring back the Chef Summit Culinary Tasting Event at the Jordan Hotel this winter. Plus, with the most breweries per capita, the Maine Brew Fest brings your favorite Maine beer to the mountains.

How to Save on Skiing at Sunday River

There are many ways to get the most bang for your buck when skiing at Sunday River, including all new ticket/pass products for the 2018/19 season. -     

• A New England Pass grants season-long access to Sunday River, Sugarloaf, and Loon Mountain. With varying levels of passes, skiers can find the option that best fits their budget and visitation habits. Passes include Gold Plus (no blackout dates; early lift access); Gold (no blackout dates); Silver (blackout dates); Nitro (blackout dates for ages 6-29); Bronze (midweek only); College Gold (no blackout dates); College Silver (blackout dates). Other passes include the 20s Pass (Sunday River only, blackout dates); Maine Student Pass (Sunday River only, no blackout dates); Maine Student Combo Pass (Sunday River and Sugarloaf, no blackout dates). Sunday River also offers various Canadian-specific passes.
• The Threedom Pass allows for three days of skiing or riding at Sunday River to use anytime during the winter season, and then they can save 40 percent on lift tickets Sunday through Friday and 20 percent on Saturdays and holidays for as many additional days as they want.
• Online tickets offer significant savings from Sunday River's traditional window rates. Plus, with Easy Change and the Snow Guarantee, there's no reason to hesitate when booking in advance.
• Sunday River is a proud partner of the Ikon Pass. The Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass offer 7 or 5 days of skiing, respectively, during the 2019/20 season.
