NEWRY, ME (June 10, 2022)—Sunday River Outfitters, Sunday River Resort’s newest summer activity program, launched for the season May 30. Guests and visitors to Sunday River will have access to on-site, family-friendly clinics in archery, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. Classes will be offered at select times midweek throughout the summer.

Sunday River Outfitters classes are based out of the resort’s Jordan Hotel and Grand Summit Hotel. Courses start at $39 for 80 minutes of beginner instruction in kayaking, archery, or stand-up paddleboarding. A three-hour kayak tour around Round Pond in Greenwood is also available for $69.

“We’re thrilled that Sunday River Outfitters is up-and-running,” says Director of Events and Competitions Greg Towle. “Western Maine is more than just skiing in the winter – there’s so much to do here in the summer, too. We hope our guests can take advantage of that and learn something new with us along the way.”

In addition to Sunday River Outfitters’ outdoor classes, there’s more summer fun to be had at the resort – the Sunday River Golf Club opened for the season May 13. Tee times are available daily from 7AM-6PM.

Guests should also mark their calendars with the resort’s popular summer and fall events including the annual Tough Mountain Challenge on Saturday, July 23, the annual Maine Brew Fest on September 17, and the North American Wife Carrying Championship during Fall Festival Weekend on Saturday, October 8.
